For the Healer also needs healing
To take a step back
And look within
To be present
For oneself
And not only for the others
But is it so easy,
Achievable on command?
Like turning on a switch
Right there and then
For the Healer knows better
Of how healing begins
There is no snap
No switch
Nor any other power
To take the place
Of a peaceful shower
To pause in place
And address
The flurry of thoughts
Taking up unnecessary space
The healer needs no preaching
To understand thy teaching
For the Healer knows better
Of how healing begins
This Healer is in need of healing
Call it a prescription
Or a gift
For this time
The healer needs to care
Not only for the others
But rather
For oneself
A gift of self-care
But is it so easy,
Achievable on command?
Like turning on a switch
Right there and then
When the healer is not accustomed
To be the one being healed
The candle wick
May not be
so quick
To be lit
By the flame
Which draws near
For Resistance
Is a law of nature
Of which challenges
Are meant to be persevered
Have no doubt
As once this light
Begins
To illuminate
The night,
The flame
Shall take no shame
Flickering
Frolicking
Whilst taking possession
Of thy name
No need to be tamed
Only a gentle direction
Is all that is required
For this healer
To begin
A journey
Of introspection
And healing
From within
For the Healer knows better
Of how healing begins
