Hello Differential Readers,
This year, we are publishing a special edition of the Differential in honor of Solidarity Week 2022 (Feb 14-18th). We are encouraging students, faculty, staff, and the local medical community to share short personal stories that represent the essence of Solidarity Week, a week which promotes “provider-patient relationships based on caring, personalization, and mutual respect.”
Examples of prior articles submitted for this can be found here: http://www.thedifferentialdx.com/category/events/solidarity-week-for-compassionate-patient-care-2016/
You may even just want to answer this question: “What is compassionate patient care?”
This form will close Feb 7th. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to either Dara Farhadi (darafarhadi@email.arizona.edu), Kristina Yancey (kyancey@email.arizona.edu), or Luke Wohlford (lwohlford@email.arizona.edu).

How did Solidarity Week start?
The National Gold Humanism Honor Society office established National Solidarity Day for Compassionate Care in 2011 to highlight the nationwide movement promoting provider-patient relationships based on caring, personalization, and mutual respect. Momentum gathered particularly after the Senate passed a resolution in 2013 and 2014 to officially recognize Solidarity Day on the national calendar, and it is now typically celebrated on or around Valentine’s Day. In 2016, many chapters celebrated a week of events instead of just one day.”
The Differential is a platform for UA COM-P medical students that aims to educate, inform and enlighten our community through collaborative dialogue and communication.
